Why Are Our Teams Called "Shavim"?
In Hebrew, Shavim means "equal" which is the pillar of our mission at OnePitch. Each team is created to give an equal opportunity to our disabled community.
Ever wondered why a soccer field is called a "pitch"?
It’s a British tradition! The term comes from marking out a designated play area. It adds a touch of history and prestige to the beautiful game!
What Are Our Core Values?
- Blue: Often associated with calmness, stability, and trust. It's a soothing color that can be welcoming for both players and families.
- Green: Represents growth, health, and renewal. Green is also very calming and is easy on the eyes, which can be beneficial in a sports setting
- Yellow: A bright and cheerful color that can stimulate joy and optimism. It’s energetic and can make the branding lively and fun.
- Orange: A mix of the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. It is friendly, cheerful, and confident, which can be encouraging for participants.
- Purple: Conveys compassion and understanding. It is also associated with inclusivity and can give a sense of creativity.

Every Friday morning, the camaraderie, joy, and inclusivity of Shavim practices filled me with happiness. The genuine greetings, whether verbal or through gestures, and the shared love for the game beat any differences. However, when I returned home, I felt like something was missing; I wished for that sense of belonging and community. It became clear to me that everyone - regardless of ability - deserves the opportunity to play and enjoy soccer. That is why I founded this league with the belief in equality, inclusion, and the universal love for the beautiful game."
